Become Certified Yoga Teachers (CYT®)

Yoga Teachers may enter Yoga Alliance International’s network of Yoga professionals and become Certified Yoga Teachers (CYT®) when their qualifications, learning and teaching experience meet our international standards.
Yoga Teachers from around the world may apply for Yoga Alliance International certification, all applications will be examined. Once you are part of Yoga Alliance International’s network of certified teachers you have entered a community of like-minded people dedicated to fostering the dissemination of the right yogic knowledge and practices.

Certification Procedure

Yoga Teachers certified by us are authorized to use the initials "CYT®" (Certified Yoga Teacher) after their name. We issue logos for enrolled teachers to use in their resumes, advertising and business endeavors. Increase your visibility - you will be featured on our web-site with contact, education and experience details making it easier for potential students in your area to contact you. Worldwide yoga network - participate in our events world-wide (at special discounted rates) such as: annual yoga conferences, continuing education workshops, and advanced teacher training courses. Join a community of like-minded individuals throughout the world either with our online blog and facebook pages or by meeting in person during regional events

    • There Are Two Ways In Which Individuals Can Obtain Certification:
  • You may attend a Yoga Alliance International certified teacher training in a YAI certified center anywhere in the world. Please consult our website or write to us to know about Yoga Teacher Trainings available worldwide: contact@yogaalliance.org.in
  • Experienced Yoga teachers may obtain Yoga Alliance International’s certification and apply for special consideration of their qualifications.

  • Review Yoga Alliance International’s Standards and Code of Conduct
  • Fill up the individual application form. CLICK HERE
  • Gather the requested documents and send them to us via email along with your application form duly filled up: contact@yogaalliance.org.in
  • We will examine your application and get in touch with you within a couple of days to finalize the procedure. We may suggest an online interview if deemed required by us.
    • Note : If you have completed a TTC from a YAI-certified school, you will usually get your YAI-Certificate from your school. If your school doesn’t give you one you can use the CERTIFICATION FOR INDIVIDUAL TEACHERS form. If you have completed your TTC from a non-YAI certified school, but want to be part of our network, use the same form
    Once your application is approved, we will provide you all necessary details for the payment of the certification fees. We will then email you the digital copy of the certificate and you will receive the official hard copy by mail within a couple of weeks.
